GLASSBORO, NJ – The College of New Jersey men's soccer team defeated Baruch College, 2-0 in the first round of the Harrison House Invitational on Friday night. It was the season opener for both teams.
In the other first round game, host Rowan University meets Medgar Evers College. On Saturday, The College of New Jersey plays Medgar Evers at 5 p.m. followed by Baruch against Rowan at 7 p.m.
The Lions scored both of their goals in the first half. Defender/midfielder Mike Razzoli (fr. Parlin, NJ/CBA) knocked in the first one at 24:10 on a cross from midfielder Craig Langan (sr. Kings Park, NY/Kings Park).
With just under four minutes left, forward Kevin Luber (so. Delran, NJ/Delran) had the second goal on a pass from midfielder Andrew Lampitt (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.). TCNJ totaled 20 shots while Baruch took two.
Goalie Matt Kasperavicius (sr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) stopped one shot for the shutout. For Baruch, Nelson DiBastiano (so. Rego Park, NY/St. Francis Prep) made eight saves.
