Camden, NJ… The College of New Jersey's women's soccer team netted pair of goals in the early stages of the second half as the Lions remained unbeaten with a 2-0 victory at Rutgers University-Camden on Wednesday.
The win put the Lions at 8-0-1 overall on the season and 3-0-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while the Scarlet Raptors fell to 3-4-3 and 0-3-1in the conference.
After a scoreless opening 90 minutes, the Lions got on the board as junior Coleen Weber (Mullica Hill, NJ/Woodstown) scored 6:30 into the new half. TCNJ followed that up with a second goal 15:22 into the second half with this one coming from junior Jamie Kunkel (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape). Kunkel's goal was assisted by sophomore Briann McDonough (North Arlington, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy).
In goal for the Lions, sophomore Jessica Clarke (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) made one save to record her fourth shutout of the season.
The Lions return home on Saturday, September 29 to face Rutgers University-Newark in a noon start at TCNJ's Soccer Complex.
