Collegeville, PA… The College of New Jersey wrestling team had five individual champions at the annual Ursinus College Fall Brawl on Sunday as the Lions dominated the middleweights at the tournament.
TCNJ's first title came at 141 pounds as Anthony Rizzolo (Wenonah, NJ/Deptford) edged teammate Bill Tenpenny (Bayville, NJ/High Point) by the score of 6-4 as the Lions claimed the top two spots in the weight class. Rizzolo finished with a perfect 4-0 record.
The next title came at 149 pounds as sophomore John Barnett (Oak Ridge, NJ/Jefferson Township) swept his way to a 4-0 mark.
The Lions again had a pair of teammate squaring off in the finals at 157 as Joe Falco (Ocean, NJ/Ocean Township) edged Dan DiColo (Budd Lake, NJ/Mt. Olive) 3-2 in overtime. Falco went 4-0 on the day and DiColo, 3-1.
Sophomore Justin Bonitatis (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) made it four straight titles for TCNJ as he improved to 6-0 on the young season with three more victories at 165 pounds.
Senior Greg Osgoodby (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) capped TCNJ's impressive run at 174 pounds winning four matches, including a 17-2 technical triumph in the finals.
Junior Mike Jacoutot (Roswell, GA/Lassiter) added a second-place finish at 133 pounds winning both of his matches in the tournament by fall.
The Lions had a pair of wrestlers place third with sophomore Mike Denver (Bayville, NJ/Central Regional) at 184 and freshman Ed Broderick (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) doing the same at 197. Denver won four matches, while Broderick won four straight to finish 5-1.
