Ovieda, FL… Sophomore Justin Bonitatis (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) won the 165-pound weight class at the Brute/Zac Jarzynka Sunshine Wrestling Classic in Florida on Monday with numerous other Lions placing in their respective weight classes.

Bonitatis went a perfect 4-0 in the tournament and won his weight class in impressive fashion by pinning New York University's Patrick Knight in 1:46. The four victories improved Bonitatis' season mark to 20-1.

TCNJ received a second-place effort from freshman Ed Broderick (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) at 197 as he fell to Augsburg's Jared Massey 6-0 in the finals. Massey entered the tournament ranked third nationally in the weight class. Broderick went 3-1 over the course of the tournament and has already collected 17 wins.

Junior Tyler Branham (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny) battled back to win the consolation bracket at 149 pounds to place third finishing with a record of 4-1. Senior Greg Osgoodby (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick) placed fourth at 174 pounds, while sophomore John Barnett (Oak Ridge, NJ/Jefferson Twp.), junior Dan DiColo (Budd Lake, NJ/Mt. Olive), and Adam Koziol (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) and each claimed fifth. Barnett wrestled at 149, DiColo at 157, and Koziol at 197.

The Lions had three other grapplers place in the tournament as sophomore Kyle Kinchen (Jackson, NJ/Jackson), freshman Joe Falco (Ocean, NJ/Ocean Township), and freshman Kyle Falzone (Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) each finished eighth. Kinchen took the mat at 125 pounds, Falco at 157 and Falzone at 285.

TCNJ returns to action on January 9 and 10 competing at the prestigious Budd Whitehill Duals hosted by Lycoming College. TCNJ is 5-0 in dual meet action this season.
