Ferriere tallies 100th win as Lions cruise past Skidmore, 7-2

Eric Ferriere joined the 100 win club on Sunday.
Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey's men's tennis team opened the spring half of the season on Sunday afternoon and came away with a 7-2 win to open the spring dual meet season. Ranked No. 25 in Division III, TCNJ is now 1-0 on the year, while Skidmore drops to 3-3.

TCNJ took two of the three doubles matches on Sunday and would capture all but sixth singles as they beat regional opponent Skidmore College. TCNJ's senior tri-captain Eric Ferriere (Montague, NJ/Kittatinny) recorded his 100th career win on Sunday as was victorious at both fourth singles and teamed at No. 2 doubles for the win. Ferriere is now 100-32 on his Lion career with a 57-16 singles mark.

TCNJ's senior tri-captain Roger Mosteller (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) was back in the lineup after taking the fall off and was a winner at fifth singles and teamed at No. 1 double with his partner, senior tri-captain Mike Klimchak (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson). Mosteller and Klimchak posted an 8-3 win over Skidmore's senior Jared Karlebach (East Hampton, NY/East Hampton) and rookie Carl-Eric Girardin (Lake Bluff, Il/Lake Forest).

Skidmore's junior tri-captain T.J. David (Bernardsville, NJ/Salisbury School) was a winner in a super break as he beat TCNJ's rookie Jonathan Yu (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert).

The Lions return to action on March 5 hosting New York University, while Skidmore College travels to California for a match-up with Whittier College on March 7.
