Hoboken, NJ…The College of New Jersey men's soccer team opened the 2008 season on the road at the Stevens' College Cup Tournament. TCNJ opened the campaign with a 3-0 victory over FDU-Florham. TCNJ stands at 1-0 on the young season, while the Devils drop to 0-1. TCNJ will face the University of Redlands on Sunday, August 31 at noon in the final day of competition.
Leading the way for the Lions on Saturday was a walk-on for the Lions, senior
Matt Junior (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional). Junior netted two goals on the day in his collegiate debut.

Chris Nelan (Barrington, NJ/Haddon Heights) collected the game-winning goal to put TCNJ on the scoreboard at 37:59 as he beat the goalie after being a defender in a one on one situation on the right side of the box. The goal was the fourth of his career as a Lion, but his first career game-winner.
