Casey scores twice as TCNJ beats Haverford

Haverford, PA… The College of New Jersey remained undefeated as the Lions collected a 5-0 victory at Haverford College on Saturday

The victory puts TCNJ at 4-0 on the season, while Haverford falls to 1-3.

The Lions got off to a fast start scoring 4:57 into the game as Erin Cunliffe (Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) cashed in on an assist from Jamie Kunkel (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape). The Lions made it 2-0 at the 25:30 mark as senior Coleen Weber (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview) scored before Jillian Casey (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) capped the scoring in the opening half for a 3-0 cushion.

Casey netted her second of the game midway through the second half before Momoko Aoe (Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ/Northern Highland) rounded out the scoring with an assist from Eva Gimello (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy).

Junior keeper Jessica Clarke (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) made one save for the Lions and combined on the shutout with sophomore Katie Piotrowski (Rahway, NJ/Union Catholic).

The Lions return home on Wednesday, September 17 taking on Swarthmore College in a 4 p.m. start at TCJN's Soccer Complex.
