Gregorek nets career-high 23 points to lead Lions past NJAC

Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's basketball team reeled off its sixth straight victory as the Lions got past New Jersey City University 66-48 on Saturday at Packer Hall.

The win upped TCNJ's overall record to 9-3 and 2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while the Gothic Knights fell to 1-3 in the conference and 3-9 overall.

Junior Alexandra Gregorek (Mahwah, NJ/Academy of Holy Angels) had a career-high 23 points to lead TCNJ shooting 9-for-13 from the floor. She added to her balanced effort with seven rebounds and four assists, which also was a career best.

Sophomore Kelsey Kutch (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) chipped in with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions and senior Alyssa Michella (Washington, Twp., NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) added 12 points, connecting three times from behind the 3-point arc.

Freshman Ebony Cunningham (East Orange, NJ/East Orange Campus) paced NJCU with 14 points, while classmate Lashawn Overton (Jersey City, NJ/Snyder) had 12.

Both teams play non-conference games on Monday with the Lions hosting Dickinson College at 7 p.m., while NJCU takes on New York City College of Technology at 6 p.m. on their home floor.
