Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey's men's swimming and diving team hosted William Paterson University in an NJAC dual meet on Sunday afternoon. The Lions would collect a pair of wins, while two Lion divers recorded NCAA provisional performance on the day. TCNJ's men's team stands at 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the NJAC, while WPU's men drops to 8-2 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC. TCNJ's women's team improves to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the league, while WPU falls to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the league.
In the diving events, TCNJ's rookie
TJ Burns (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) posted a pair of wins, including an NCAA provisional score with his victory in the one meter event. He posted a score of 260.50 to win the one meter board and won the three meter event with a score of 247.00.
Sophomore
Rob Moran (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) was a double winner as he captured the first in the 1,000 freestyle race in 10:33.43 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:18.00.
Freshman
Matt Kaufman (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) added a win in the 100 breaststroke race in 1:02.26, while taking a second in the 100 freestyle in 49.66. Rookie
Mike Vernoia (Hillsborough, NJ/Immaculata) would also win two events as he took a first in the 200 butterfly in 2:00.50, while adding a first in the 500 freestyle race in 5:02.27.
Sophomore
Shawn Kircher (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) would post the winning time of 1:45.40 to take home first in the 200 freestyle event, while senior
Tom Nawrot (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) won the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.01. Sophomore
Joe Tseng (East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park) won the 100 backstroke race in 54.96, while rookie
Kevin Cain (Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) captured the 200 backstroke race in 2:07.55.
Rookie
JP Ferrie (Sparta, NJ/Pope John XXIII) would win the 100 butterfly for the Lions in 55.81, while sophomore
Tim Rauch (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) won the 200 individual medley race in 2:01.30.
TCNJ won the two relays on the day as they took the 200 medley relay in 1:39.50 and the 200 freestyle race in 1:29.23. On the winning 200 medley relay were Nawrot, senior

Mike Heaney (Voorhees, NJ/Bishop Eustace), and senior
Mike Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East). Molloy, Heaney, Yoa and Nawrot would win the final race of the meet, taking the first in the 200 freestyle race as well for the Lions.
