Gavin Formon was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team, as released by the organization this afternoon. The junior is the second Academic All-American in program history and first since Andrew Girman also garnered Second Team honors in 2001.
Formon was named to the Academic All-District Team for the first time in his career earlier this month, an honor awarded to student-athletes who have a minimum 3.50 GPA and meet high athletic standards. A select group of student-athletes then advance to the national ballot where CSC members vote on Academic All-America teams, with the Mine Hill, N.J.-native earning a spot on the Second Team.
An economics major with a 3.94 GPA, Formon is a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American First Team selection, a six-time First Team All-NJAC honoree and an eight-time NCAA All-American in his first three years at TCNJ. In the 2024-25 season, Formon was named to the NJAC Second Team in a quartet of events, adding All-American honors in both the 400 IM and 800 Free Relay at this year's NCAA Championships to bump his career total to eight.
Formon owns the program record in the 1650 Free by over 10 seconds (15:32.88), and ranks second in the 400 IM (3:53.90) and 500 Free (4:27.21).
