#18 Men's Swimming Sets Several National Top-Ten Times at Monmouth Invitational

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The #18 TCNJ men's swimming team started the season with a bang, setting numerous national top-10 times at the Monmouth Invitational.
 
The Lions set the tone from the very first event of the meet: the 200 medley relay. The team of Andrew Kidchob, Tyler McGeehan, Joe McChesney, and M.J. Hoban combined for a time of 1:30.71, winning the event and posting the second fastest time in Division III.
 
A few events later, Gabe Beverini posted a national top-5 time in the 200 IM (1:52.53), and the Lions rattled off three straight individual wins after that. MJ Hoban got it started with a top-10 time with his win in the 50 free (20.78). Joe McChesney followed with a victory in the 100 fly, posting the third-fastest time in DIII so far this year (49.17). Then, Noah Serrano logged a time of 4:09.60 to win in the 400 IM, which posted another national top-10 time.
 
Later, Tyler McGeehan won in the 100 breast with a time of 57.52, with Andrew Kidchob posting a top-5 time en route to a victory in the 100 back. Kidchob would later post another top-10 time in the 200 back (1:52.01).
 
The Lions' final national top-10 meet came in the 400 free relay, which was the last event of the meet. MJ Hoban, Derin Ozbas, Riley Smith, and Gabe Beverini posted a time of 3:06.99 to make it 8 national top-10 times set at the meet for TCNJ. Also, all of TCNJ's times were top in the NJAC.
 
TCNJ will look to build off of this fantastic performance in their next meet away at Ramapo, on Saturday, November 1.
