Salisbury, MD… In a match-up of perennial Division III field hockey powers, defending national champion Salisbury University scored three times in the second half to get past The College of New Jersey 4-1 on Saturday in Maryland.
With the loss, TCNJ's record dips to 11-4.
The Sea Gulls netted the only goal of the opening half, but the Lions pulled even early in the second. TCNJ knotted things at 1-1 as sophomore
Kathleen Notos (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) scored unassisted 7:55 into the second half. That goal was her ninth of the season.
The hosts, however, came right back to regain the lead just under five minutes later and then added two more in the final 15 minutes of the game.
