Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey swept visiting Muhlenberg College on the tennis court as the men's team picked up a 9-0 win over the Mules at TCNJ's Tennis Complex.
The win bumped the Lions to 3-2 on the season, while the Mules fell to an even 1-1.
TCNJ started the match sweeping all three points in doubles play and then claimed all six in singles action.
The doubles team of Steven Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor Plainsboro South) and Stewart Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor Plainsboro South) continued their strong play as they improved to 7-1 this season with an 8-1 victory at first doubles.
In singles, freshman Keith Goldstein (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) won 6-1, 6-0 at fifth singles to register his team-leading 10th win of the season.
The Lions have a busy weekend ahead traveling to Haverford College on Saturday, before returning home on Sunday to take on 16th-ranked Kalamazoo College in a 1 p.m. start as TCNJ's Tennis Complex.
