Allentown, PA …Senior Jessica Imhof (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) poured in a career-high 24 points, but it wasn't enough as The College of New Jersey women's basketball team fell to host Muhlenberg College in the title game of the Scotty Wood Tournament on Saturday.

The loss was the first of the season for the Lions after opening with a pair of wins.

Imhof and Hannah Tait (Staten Island, NY/Notre Dame Academy) were both honored as they were selected to the all-tournament team.

The game was close for most of the opening half with the Mules holding a slim 23-22 lead with 8:09 in the period. Muhlenberg, however, closed out the opening 20 minutes with a 25-10 run to forge a 48-32 advantage on the scoreboard.

Imhof was perfect in that opening frame as she was 5-for-5 from the floor, including a 3-pointer, and sank all four of her free throws.

In the second half, Muhlenberg picked up right where it left off scoring the first 10 points of the half as they went on to lead by as many as 26 points.

The Lions continued to battle as they steadily cut into that margin getting it back to 11 points at 74-63 with less than a minute to go, but the clock prevented them from getting any closer.

Imhof finished 7-of-12 from the floor and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Tiffany DeTulio (Colts Neck, NJ/Colts Neck) also reached double figures scoring 11 points as she knocked down 5-of-7 shots. Classmate Liz West (Monmouth Beach, NJ/Shore Regional) had a balanced game with nine points and seven rebounds, which tied a career high.

Tait also chipped in with seven rebounds.

The Lions are idle until next weekend when they play in another tournament heading to North Carolina to play in the Cross Creek InnKeeper Turkey Shootout hosted by Methodist University. TCNJ will play Methodist in the first round and then take on Ferrum College.
