Saratoga Springs, NY...Close matches have been nothing new this spring for The College of New Jersey men's tennis team as they have played four matches that have been decided by one point. The latest of those came on Sunday as the Lions fell 5-4 at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.

The Lions are now 6-4 on the season, with three of those defeats coming by one point.

TCNJ had a 2-1 edge in doubles play as Jeremy Eckardt (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) and TJ Riley (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Moorestown) won 9-7, while the pairing of Steven Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and Dean Thompson (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) outlasted their Thoroughbred counterparts 9-8 (8-6).

Eckardt added a win at first singles by the score of 6-1, 6-3, while Stewart Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) won 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 in the fourth slot.

TCNJ returns home this weekend hosting Ithaca College in a 10 a.m. start on Saturday.
