Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey put the finishing touches on its regular season as the Lions doubled up visiting Washington College on Thursday, 6-3.

The win put TCNJ at 8-4 on the season, while the Shoremen dipped to 8-4.

The Lions will now await the selection of the 2011 NCAA Division III Tournament field, which will be announced in early May.

Prior to the match, TCNJ recognized its two seniors as Jeremy Eckardt (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) and Jonathan Yu (Hamilton Square, NJ/Steinert) were honored.

Yu won his singles match in the third position 6-0, 6-1 and then pulled out an 8-6 win at third doubles paired up with Stewart Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South).

TCNJ also got a win at second doubles as Steven Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and Dean Thompson (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) won by the count of 8-1.

In singles, Riley added a win at fourth singles, while Jordan Cruz (Manasquan, NJ/CBA) and Dan Lee (Abington, PA/Abington) added some pop to the bottom portion of the line-up winning at fifth and sixth singles. Cruz won 6-3, 7-5, while Lee cruised 6-1, 6-2.
