Mahwah, NJ... The College of New Jersey softball team secured a bid to the upcoming New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament picking up a pair of wins in their final at bat taking both ends of a doubleheader at Ramapo College on Saturday. The Lions won the opener 2-1 on a seventh-inning homer in the top half of the inning and then completed the sweep with a walk-off hit for a 1-0 win.
Junior
Katelyn Congilose (Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) accounted for both of the game-winning hits with a solo home run in the first game and then a run-scoring single in the second.
The Lions finished the conference schedule with a record of 10-8 and went 24-12 overall. TCNJ will be the fifth seed in the tournament and will play at second-seeded Montclair State University on Tuesday at 4 .m.

TCNJ 2, Ramapo College 1
Congilose blasted a game-winning home run in the top of the seventh inning as the Lions rallied for the win in the opener.
After Ramapo grabbed an early 1-0 with a run in the second, TCNJ knotted the game in the top of the seventh as sophomore
Liz Huttner (Princeton Junction, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) singled to right field scoring
Ashley Sogluizzo (Middletown, NJ/Middletown South).
Junior
Lauren Fitzsimmons (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) went the distance on the mound for the Lions as collected her eighth win of the season.
Game 2
TCNJ 1, Ramapo College 0
The Lions won again scored the game's final run to earn the win as TCNJ plated the lone run of the contest in the bottom of seventh.
Kelly Hommen (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) got the inning going with a double and then gave was to pinch-runner
Nicole Brodbeck (Atco, NJ/Hammonton). An intentional walk to Huttner put runners on first and second and those runners advanced on a ground out. Congilose came up with the winning hit for the second straight game as she singled home Brodbeck completing the sweep.
Freshman pitcher
Alex Carisone (Branchburg, NJ/Rutgers Prep) picked up her team-leading fifth shutout of the season allowing just three hits. It was her also her team-leading ninth victory.
Hommen finished the game going 2-for-3 for the Lions.
