Hoboken, NJ...The College of New Jersey and Stevens Institute of Technology each won three matches in singles play, but the host Ducks gained an extra point in doubles action as the Lions' men's tennis team came up short on Saturday, 5-4.
The Lions are now 6-3 on the season.
Steven Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) won 7-5, 6-0 at second singles, while
Howard Telson (Edison, NJ/J.P. Stevens) recorded a 6-1, 6-1 triumph in the fifth position.
Jordan Cruz (Manasquan, NJ/CBA) picked up the team's other win in single as he outlasted his opponent 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 at in the sixth slot.
Stewart Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and Telson netted the team's win in doubles play scoring an 8-6 victory at third doubles.
TCNJ is right back on the count tomorrow heading to Skidmore College.
