Bristol, RI – The College of New Jersey wrestling team had a perfect Saturday as the Lions rattled off three straight victories at the New England/MET Duals hosted by Roger Williams University. TCNJ opened with a 29-10 win over Williams College and then dismantled the host Hawks 40-5. The Lions capped off the day with a 29-15 triumph over the United States Coast Guard Academy.
 
Those three wins put TCNJ at 11-4 on the season.
 
The Lions had a number of solid performances throughout the course of the day with five wrestlers winning all three of their bouts. Freshman PJ Schmidt (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) was 3-0 at 133, while junior John Darling (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) had that same record at 157. Also part of that group included sophomore KC Murphy (Hamburg, NJ/Wallkill Valley) as he took the mat at both 165 and 174, senior Mike Denver (Bayville, NJ/Central Regional) at 184, and junior Dan Brill (Livingston, NJ/Livingston) at 197.
 
Freshman Joey DiCarlo (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) and senior Brian Bollette (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny) each went 2-0 as DiCarlo competed at 125 pounds and Bollette at 141.
 
TCNJ is right back on the mat tomorrow at 10th-ranked Springfield College.
