Union, NJ… The College of New Jersey field hockey stayed undefeated collecting their ninth straight win to open the season on Monday as the Lions used a second-half goal to get past host Kean University 1-0.
The win puts the Lions at 9-0 and also keeps them undefeated in New Jersey Athletic Conference play at 3-0. It was also TCNJ's 23rd straight win dating back to last season. The loss knocked the Cougars to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
Senior
Jillian Nealon (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) netted the game's only goal scoring 12:51 into the second half with an assist from sophomore
Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan). The goal was Nealon's NJAC-leading 15
th of the season.
Freshman
Roisin Dougherty (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) made a pair of saves for her fourth straight shutout. This shutout extended her scoreless streak to 318:33.
TCNJ plays again on Thursday, October 4 at Cabrini College.
