Morrisville, NY … The College of New Jersey football team put forth a dominant defensive effort as they shutout Morrisville State College 14-0 on Saturday afternoon under frosty conditions in Morrisville, NY.
The victory pushed the Lions overall record to 4-5 and 3-4 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. It also marked the third consecutive year TCNJ's defense blanked an opponent as they held the Mustangs to just 12 first downs and 64 rushing yards in the game.

Daniel Dugan (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) completed 26 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown. Senior
Matt Rosati (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) matched a career-high with seven receptions, while senior
Justin Doniloski (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills) gained 94 yards on the ground and caught five passes for 27 more. He currently leads the NJAC in receptions with 57.
Morrisville won the coin flip and deferred, giving the ball first to the Lions. Senior
Zach Friedrich (Berlin, NJ/East Stroudsburg South) returned the opening kickoff 33 yards to put Dugan and the offense near midfield. The Lions went 52 yards on nine plays, capped by a one-yard burst from Tyson to jump out to a 7-0 lead.
Late in the half, Dugan hit Scalici with an eight-yard touchdown pass to stretch the lead to 14-0. It was the 12
th passing touchdown of the season for Dugan and first career TD reception for Scalici.
The Lions' defense held the Mustangs to just 122 yards of total offense in the opening half. They ran the ball 12 times for just 25 yards and were held to only seven first downs in the first 30 minutes of play.
That trend continued in the second half as weather conditions made it difficutl for both sides on offense. The Mustangs did put their best drive together to open the third quarter, but on third-and-eight from the Lions' 21-yard line, Clark picked off his second pass of the game at the three-yard line. From that point, Morrisville gained just 61 total yards of offense, punting three times and turning the ball over on downs three more times.

TCNJ hosts its season finale against Rowan University on Friday evening at 7 p.m. in Lions' Stadium. The NJAC contest was under consideration to be pushed back due to Rowan and Kean University playing their game on Monday, November 5. That game has been canceled.
