Box Score
Hoboken, NJ… Junior Kelly Roddy (Belmar, NJ/St. Rose) scored a career-high 15 points as The College of New Jersey women's basketball team rattled off its sixth straight victory with a 52-41 win at Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday.

Roddy finished the game going 6-for-10 from the floor and also hit the bucket that put the Lions in the lead for good with 4:42 left in the game. That bucket gave TCNJ a 39-38 lead and kicked off a 14-3 run to close out the game. The team's defense once again stepped up by not allowing a field goal over the final five-and-a-half minutes, while going a near perfect 11-for-12 from the foul line to secure the victory.

The win put the Lions at 7-2 on the season, while the Ducks dropped to 3-6 after opening the season with three straight wins.

During the team's winning streak, the Lions have held opponents to 42.3 points per game and limiting them to only 30-percent shooting from the floor. TCNJ is also creating its own chances forcing a whopping 27.4 turnovers, including 27 against the Ducks.

Sophomore Kelly Coughlin (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) helped the Lions carry a narrow 18-17 lead into the half against Stevens, hitting both of her 3-pointers in the opening frame.

Junior Liz West (Monmouth Beach, NJ/Shore Regional) added to the win with eight points, while classmate Tiffany DeTulio (Colts Neck, NJ/Colts Neck) chipped in with seven. Senior Candace Vigo (New Brunswick, NJ/New Brunswick Health Science Technology) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and also had five points.

TCNJ has a break in the schedule until December 29 and 30 when they compete in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic hosted by York College. The Lions will play the Apprentice School on the opening night of the tournament then face either the host Spartans or Wheaton College on the second day.
