Ewing, NJ...Swarthmore College earned four points in singles play as the Garnet upended The College of New Jersey men's tennis team on Saturday.
The loss was the first of the season for the Lions, while 20
th-ranked Swarthmore improved to 5-6.
TCNJ trailed 2-1 after the doubles portion of the match as the duo of
Howard Telson Edison, NJ/J.P. Stevens) and
Stewart Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) earned an 8-3 win in the second spot.
Picking up victories in singles play for the Lions were junior
TJ Riley (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Moorestown) at first singles and
Gabe Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) in the sixth position. Riley won his match 5-7, 6-3, 6-1, while Allen won 6-4, 6-0.
TCNJ is right back on the court tomorrow hosting Muhlenberg College at 1 p.m.
