Madison, NJ...The College of New Jersey men's tennis team picked up a 5-4 victory at Drew University on Tuesday.
The win moved the Lions to 6-3 on the season.
TCNJ opened the match winning two team points in doubles as the second pair of
Steven Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and
Steven Fernandez (West Windsor, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) won by the score of 8-2. The team of
Bill Carrig (Shamong, NJ/Seneca) and Jordan Cruz (Manasquan, CBA) then won by that same score in the third position.
In singles action, Fernandez collected a 6-1, 6-3 win at second singles, while TCNJ finished strong winning both the fifth and sixth positions.
Gabe Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) won 6-3, 6-3 at fifth singles and Cruz won 6-2, 6-1 in the sixth spot.
TCNJ have a busy weekend coming up as they host Salisbury University on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. and then take on Washington College the following day. That match is set for 2 p.m.
