Hummelstown, PA… The College of New Jersey field hockey team pushed its winning streak to 20 on Saturday as the Lions got started early never looked back with a 3-0 win over Juniata College on Saturday at Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown, PA.
The win puts top-ranked TCNJ at 6-0 on the season with its winning streak dating back to last season.
Sophomore
Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) needed only 26 seconds to get the Lions on the board as she cashed in on an assist from
Victoria Martin (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson). That goal was her fifth of the season and ran her goal-scoring streak to four games.
TCNJ bumped its margin to 2-0 with 15:42 left in the opening half thanks to
Jillian Nealon's (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) team-leading 11
th goal of the season. That tally was also assisted by Martin.
Sophomore
Erin Waller (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) added the game's final goal with 20:21 left in the second half with assist from senior
Camille Passucci (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls).
Sophomore
Lauren Pigott (Jobstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) added to the win with a defensive save and freshman goalie
Roisin Dougherty (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) picked up her third shutout.
The Lions are idle until returning home on Thursday, September 27 when they host 16
th-ranked Ursinus College at 7:30 p.m. in Lions' Stadium.
