Lions ground Eagles 3-0 to extend win streak to 20

Hummelstown, PA… The College of New Jersey field hockey team pushed its winning streak to 20 on Saturday as the Lions got started early never looked back with a 3-0 win over Juniata College on Saturday at Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown, PA.
 
The win puts top-ranked TCNJ at 6-0 on the season with its winning streak dating back to last season.
 
Sophomore Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) needed only 26 seconds to get the Lions on the board as she cashed in on an assist from Victoria Martin (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson).  That goal was her fifth of the season and ran her goal-scoring streak to four games.
 
TCNJ bumped its margin to 2-0 with 15:42 left in the opening half thanks to Jillian Nealon's (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) team-leading 11th goal of the season. That tally was also assisted by Martin.
 
Sophomore Erin Waller (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) added the game's final goal with 20:21 left in the second half with assist from senior Camille Passucci (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls).
 
Sophomore Lauren Pigott (Jobstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) added to the win with a defensive save and freshman goalie Roisin Dougherty (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) picked up her third shutout.
 
The Lions are idle until returning home on Thursday, September 27 when they host 16th-ranked Ursinus College at 7:30 p.m. in Lions' Stadium.
