Montclair, NJ …The College of New Jersey men's soccer team fell in overtime for the second straight game as they were edged by Montclair State University 1-0 on Saturday night.

Dan Mendoza scored from 22 yards out 1:27 into first overtime to break over 91 minutes of scoreless soccer. The victory pushed the Red Hawks record to 7-1 while the Lions dipped to 4-6.
TCNJ's defense did a noteworthy job of stifling a Montclair State offense that was averaging 3.75 goals per game entering the contest. Freshman goalkeeper
Maciej Libucha (Woodlank Park, NJ/Passaic Valley) stopped seven shots in net and was a major factor in keeping the game even through two periods of play.
Senior
Vince McEnroe (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) and junior
Kevin Shaw (Brookside, NJ/West Morris Mendham) each had shots on goal that were stopped by goalkeeper
Kevin Lynch early in the first half. But Lynch would not be tested the remainder of the game as he registered his first shutout of the season.
The Lions move forward with their New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule when they take on Rutgers University- Camden on Wednesday, September 26 at 7 p.m. The next home game for TCNJ will be Saturday, September 29 when they battle Rutgers-Newark in the soccer complex at 1 p.m.
