Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey women's basketball team captured its fourth straight victory as they defeated New Jersey City University 66-31 in Packer Hall on Monday night.
The Lions (17-7, 11-4 NJAC) need a win over unbeaten Montclair State University coupled with a William Paterson University loss to Ramapo College on Wednesday night to earn a bye in the opening round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs. If one of those two outcomes fails to transpire, TCNJ will host either Rutgers Newark or Richard Stockton College this Saturday on campus at 4 p.m.

Tiffany DeTulio (Colts Neck, NJ/Colts Neck) dropped in three apiece from long distance to lead all scorers with 13 points. Junior

th career game and final regular season home game,
senior Candace Vigo (New Brunswick, NJ/New Brunswick Science and Tech) finished with eight points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Freshman
Kiana Briggs (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County Tech) led the Gothic Knights (5-19, 1-14 NJAC) with seven points and four rebounds. Senior
Delia Charnez (Union City, NJ/Union City) chipped with six points and a pair of boards.
TCNJ was control of the game from start to finish, never trailing. They held a 34-17 advantage at the break by playing efficient offense and tight defense. Roddy drained a long three-pointer in transition to stake the Lions to a 25-9 lead just past the midpoint in the first half. NJCU struggled with its shooting touch from the floor, netting just three of their first 17 field goal attempts.
In her first collegiate start, Duffy connected on a pair of three-point field goal attempts and two free throws to lead TCNJ with eight points. Roddy also posted eight points in the first period, while freshman
Christina Merlin (North Brunswick, NJ/Bishop Ahr) collected four rebounds in 10 minutes off the bench.
The Lions showcased their depth in the second half as nine players appeared in the scoring column. Freshman
Jessica Lynch (Sandy Hook, CT/Newtown) grabbed six rebounds in 12 quality minutes, while also scoring a bucket and dishing out two assists. Junior
Liz West (Monmouth Beach, NJ/Shore Regional) finished with 12 points and seven boards, while sophomore guard
Kyle O'Donnell (Magnolia, NJ/Sterling) tallied seven points and three boards.
The 13 points was a career-high for Duffy.
The Lions are back on the hardwood Wednesday night for their regular season finale when they visit Montclair State University for a 6 p.m. game. The Gothic Knights host Rutgers University-Camden.
