St. David's, PA… The College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team was a model of efficiency on the early stages of its game at Eastern University on Saturday as the Lions scored on 10 of their first 11 shots as they cruised to a 19-2 win.
The win put TCNJ at 5-2 on the season, while the Eagles fell to 0-6.
Sophomore
Erin Waller (Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Twp.) got the Lions rolling early scoring 1:21 into the game and only 29 seconds later TCNJ added a second goal. That was scored by classmate
Marissa Pennypacker (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview) with an assist from
Jen Garavente (Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.).
TCNJ ended up scoring the game's first 11 goals of the contest and eventually carried a 14-1 lead into the half. The Lions scored those goals on just 16 shots.
In the second half, the Lions continued to dictate play and scored five of the six goals in the period.
Senior
Jillian Nealon (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) had a huge game with a season-high seven points on three goals and four assists. Senior
Alex Spark (Harvey Cedars, NJ/Southern Regional) and Pennypacker each scored four goals and had one assist, while Waller finished with five points on one goal and four assists. Junior
Lauren Pigott (Jobstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) and Garavente also chipped in with two goals and an assist each.

Kelsey Zinck (Bristow, VA/James W. Robinson) made a pair of saves to earn the win.
