Orlando, FL…The College of New Jersey men's tennis team earned four points in singles play to rally past Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 5-4 in the team's opening match on its spring trip in Florida on Saturday.
The Engineers held a 2-1 edge after doubles, but the Lions completed the rally at fourth singles as junior
Howard Telson (Edison, NJ/John P. Stevens) pulled out a 6-4, 5-7 (5-7), 6-4 victory.
The victory kept TCNJ undefeated on the young season as they moved to 3-0, while RPI dropped to 3-2.
TCNJ continues its busy spring tip tomorrow, facing Franklin & Marshall College at 10 a.m.
