Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey field hockey team pushed its winning streak to five straight on Saturday as the Lions earned a 3-0 win over visiting Gwynedd Mercy University.

TCNJ scored twice in the opening half and added another late insurance goal in the second to improve to 5-1 on the season. During their winning streak, the 12
th-ranked Lions have outscored the opposition 20-2.

The Lions collected a pair of goals in the opening half with first one coming off of the stick of freshman
Danielle Andreula (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt). That goal came with 16:15 left in the period and was assisted by junior
Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan).

TCNJ doubled that lead with 7:01 left in the half when another freshman got on the board. This time,
Lexi Smith (Florence, NJ/Florence Twp.) tipped in a shot from
Mikayla Cimilluca (Fairfax, NJ/West Essex).

Smith closed out the scoring in the waning seconds, lacing a shot just inside the near post on a feed from
Erin Waller (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.).

Amanda Krause (Richboro, PA/Council Rock North) recorded her second straight shutout, making four saves.
