Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's tennis team secured its 31
st straight New Jersey Athletic Conference championship on Sunday as the Lions posted a 9-0 win over visiting Rutgers-Camden.

TCNJ has claimed every conference title since the NJAC began sponsoring the sport in 1982. They also extended their impressive conference winning streak to 154 straight, sweeping all six matches this fall. By winning the conference title, the Lions earned the NJAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament next spring.

The loss dropped the Scarlet Raptors to 1-2 in the conference and an even 5-5 overall.

The Lions got off to a fast start winning all three doubles matches by identical 8-0 scores. Freshmen
Katie Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) and sophomore
Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette (Union, NJ/Union) teamed up for a win in the first position, while senior
Tara Criscuolo (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) and sophomore
Emma Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) won in the second spot. Earning the win at third doubles was the tandem of junior
Sarah Lippincott (Millville, NJ/Millville) and freshman
Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat).

TCNJ swept singles play as well winning each match in straight sets.

Next weekend the Lions will head to New York State to participate in the ITA Northeast Regional hosted by William Smith College.
