Jaclyn Douglas (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) scored twice in the opening five minutes to get The College of New Jersey field hockey team rolling as the Lions advanced to the New Jersey Athletic Conference title game with a 5-1 triumph over Kean University on Wednesday.

TCNJ will host the NJAC final on Saturday, November 8 at 1 p.m. when they face rival Rowan University. The Profs moved into the finals with a 3-2 win over Montclair State University. This will be a rematch of the regular-season finale that saw the Lions post a 2-0 win in Glassboro. The winner of Saturday's game will receive the NJAC's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

The win put fourth-ranked TCNJ to 18-1 on the season and pushed its winning streak to a season-best 10 straight.

The first goal by the Lions came 1:59 into the game when Douglas hit the ball from just inside the circle on a pass from junior
Mikayla Cimilluca (Fairfield, NJ/West Essex) to put the hosts up 1-0.

It took Douglas only 2:22 to double that advantage when she deflected in a cross from senior
Lindsey Hatch (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.). That assist etched Hatch's name into TCNJ's record book as she set a single-season mark for assists with 20.

The lead grew to 3-0 with 19:30 left before the half as the Lions executed a perfect 2-on-0 break. Senior
Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) led the charge and at the last second slid a short pass to Hatch, who buried the feed for her team-leading 28
th goal of the season.

In the second half, the hosts bumped the margin to 4-0 when senior
Victoria Martin (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) tipped in a pass from Douglas 7:56 into the period.

Healy made it 5-0 with a tremendous end-to-end rush that resulted in her 15
th goal of the season.

Kean avoided the shutout in the final minutes when
Chelsea Mann (Greentown, PA/Wallenpaupack) found a little space on the end line and scored with 4:56 left.

In two games this season against Kean, Douglas has scored four times and has netted the game-winning goal in each victory.

Kelly Schlupp (Holland, PA/Council Rock South) made one save for her 18
th victory of the season.
