Box Score

Purchase, NY... The College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team continued to keep its offense in high gear as the Lions ran their record to 4-0 on the season rolling to an 18-1 victory at Manhattanville College on Saturday.

Seventh-ranked TCNJ has scored at least 16 goals in each of its first four games and are averaging an impressive 18 goals a contest.

The defense is also doing its part allowing only 20 goals in that same time frame for an average of five a contest.

Manhattanville (0-4) scored the opening goal of the game, but from that point is all Lions. Junior Kendal Borup (Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and sophomore Cortney Natalicchio (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) scored 39 seconds apart to put TCNJ in front with 25:01 left in the half.

The Lions ended up scoring the final 14 goals of the half and then scored the only four of the second half to make the final 18-1.

Senior Jen Garavente (Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.), led a pretty balanced attack with five goals and two assists, while Borup scored four times and assisted two more. Junior Erin Waller (Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Twp.) added three goals and Natalicchio and junior Ava Fitzgerald (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) each tallied twice. Junior Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) and freshman Julia Short (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) also scored with Short's goal being her first of her career.

Freshman Kelly Schlupp (Holland, PA/Council Rock South) won her third straight decision in goal making one save, while classmate Catherine Killian (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) played the second half and also picked up a save.

TCNJ faces its toughest test of the season so far on Thursday, March 20 when sixth-ranked Gettysburg College visits Lions' Stadium for a 6 p.m. start.
