Orlando, FL…The College of New Jersey men's tennis team got its spring trip off to a perfect start as the Lions recorded a 9-0 shutout over Cornell College on Sunday.

The win squared TCNJ's record at an even 2-2 on the season, while the Rams dipped to 3-5.

The Lions took charge right from the start of doubles sweeping all three available points. The top pairing of senior
Howard Telson (Edison, NJ/J.P. Stevens) and sophomore
Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) won by the score of 8-2, while the second team of sophomore
Billy Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) and freshman
Mike Stanley (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) and the third tandem of senior
Gabe Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) sophomore Dan Presuto (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris) each won by identical 8-0 scores.

In singles, the Lions rattled off six straight wins to complete the sweep. Winning in order of their position were Telson, Cooper, Presuto, Allen, Stanley, and junior
Ezra Klemow (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood).
