Madison, NJ…One match after seeing its winning streak snapped, The College of New Jersey men's tennis team started a new one as the Lions roared to a 9-0 victory at Drew University on Thursday.
The win elevated TCNJ's record to 6-3 on the season, while the Rangers dropped to 1-4.
The Lions set the tone by sweeping all three points in doubles action and the kept things rolling by earning all six to complete the shutout.
Senior
Howard Telson (Edison, NJ/J.P. Stevens) and sophomore
Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) started the success in doubled with an 8-3 victory, while the second and third teams each won by the score of 8-1. Taking the court in the second spot were freshman
Mike Stanley (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) and sophomore
Billy Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge). And the third team featured senior
Gabe Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and junior
Andrew Grossman (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley).

Dan Presuto (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris), Allen, Stanley, and Buchbinder then ran the table in singles play to finish off the shutout.
The Lions return home on Sunday, April 6 when they host Franklin & Marshall College at 1 p.m.
