Erin Waller (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) added two goals as The College of New Jersey field hockey team cruised in its season opener with a 7-2 win over Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday.

The win put the 11
th-ranked Lions at 1-0 on the young season, while the Ducks dipped to 0-1.

Douglas netted the first goal of the campaign 2:29 into the game knocking in her own rebound and then made it 2-0 just 50 seconds later. She completed the hat trick with 24:44 left on the clock with senior
Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) picking up assists on her second and third goals.

Senior
Lindsey Hatch (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) notched the fourth goal for the Lions with Waller getting the next two. The final goal of the half came from Healy with an assist from Hatch.

The Ducks scored the only two goals in the second half with
Dailyn Brook (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) and
Nolie Prouty (Glendora, CA/Glendora) each netting their first goals of the season.

Healy finished with a goal and two assists for the Lions as she raised her career point total to 99 in 65 career games. The forward's next point will make her the 17
th player in program history to reach 100 points.

Hatch also had a big night with a goal and two helpers.

The Lions rotated four goalies in the win with sophomore
Kelly Schlupp (Holland, PA/Council Rock South) making two saves to garner the victory.
