Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ (November 13, 2015) - TCNJ Lions Football Team ended the 2015 season with resounding 20-0 victory over Rowan University, on November 13 at Richard Wackar Stadium. The Lions sent their seniors off with a streak of four wins in a row; making their record 4-5 overall and 4-4 in the NJAC.
Offensively, the Lions were led by running back
Victor Scalici (Sr. Freehold, NJ/Colts Neck). Scalici tied a program record for most carries in a game with 47 and finished with 264 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback
Michael Marchesano (Jr. New Providence, NJ/New Providence) finished the night 9-9 passing for 79 yards and added a rushing touchdown. Tight end
Andrew Lachawiec (Sr. Belford, NJ/Middletown North) led the Lions in receiving with two catches for 31 yards, including a crucial 26 yard catch on an early third down. The offensive line had another strong game for TCNJ.
For the second straight week, the Lions defense held their opponent off the scoreboard. Linebacker
Zack Vasilenko (Sr. Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) led the way with nine tackles including three for losses and one sack. Jeff Skomsky (Sr. Maple Shade, NJ/Paul VI) and
Troy Domenick (So. Marlton/Cherokee) each had six tackles and Domenick recovered a fumble forced by Dan Naples (Jr. Somerville, NJ / Somerville). Safety
Martin Flatley (Sr. Plainsboro, NJ / West Windsor-South) preserved the shutout in the 4th quarter, with a pass break up in the end zone on fourth and goal from the Lions six yard line.
The Lions opened the scoring on a 15-yard run by
Victor Scalici with 9:40 left in the opening quarter to finish a nine-play, 75-yard drive.
Brian Nagy's (Hillsborough, NJ / Hillsborough) extra point was blocked. Scalici would cap off a 15-play drive, that chewed up 7:52 of the clock, with a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Nagy added the extra point. Marchesano added a one-yard rushing touchdown early in the third quarter and Nagy connected on the extra point to finish the scoring.
For the Profs, running back Quincey Lambert carried the ball 11 times for 35 yards and quarterback Dante Pickney went 7-21 passing for 54 yards. Russ Forchion led the team in receiving with four catches for 37 yards. Defensively, lineman Sebastian Ljoka had 13 tackles and recovered a fumble. Linebackers John Barillo, Darren Dungee and safety Bobby Barbieri each added 10 tackles.
