Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey men's tennis team entered a rare three-week break in the schedule with a victory as the Lions posted a 9-0 triumph over visiting Ramapo College on Wednesday.

With the win over the Roadrunners now behind them, TCNJ (2-1) won't return to the court until March 25 when they host NCAA Division II Kutztown University.

The Lions swept through the doubles portion as each of the three teams posted win. The first pairing of juniors
Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and
Billy Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) won 8-2 for a 1-0 lead. The second team of sophomores
Jack August (Medford, NJ/Home Schooled) and
Mike Stanley (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) won by that same score, while the third duo of freshmen
Sean Fernandez (Emerson, NJ/Bergen Catholic) and
Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) posted an 8-3 victory.

Cooper won in straight sets without yielding a point at first singles, while August won in the second position. Buchbinder and D'Agostino kept things rolling with wins at third and fourth singles, before Fernandez and Stanley completed the sweep with the final two wins.
