Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey men's tennis team won for the seventh time this season by a 9-0 score as the Lions closed out the home portion of its schedule with a win over Franklin & Marshall College.
 
The win put TCNJ at 11-2 on the season with one match left on the schedule. That match is Wednesday, April 29 at Stevens Institute of Technology.
 
Prior to the match, the Lions honored Ezra Klemow (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) as part of "Senior Day" for his hard work, dedication and leadership to the program.
 
TCNJ's doubles teams gave the Lions a nice cushion early as they picked up all three points. Juniors  Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and Billy Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) won 8-5 in the top spot, while the second tandem of sophomores Mike Stanley (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) and Jack August (Medford, NJ/Home Schooled) earned an 8-3 victory. The third duo of sophomore Jason Prezant (Montvale, NJ/Pascack Hills) and freshmen Sean Fernandez (Emerson, NJ/Bergen Catholic) them won 8-3 to complete the sweep in doubles.
 
The Lions added all six points in singles to their total. Winning in order from the top spot to the sixth position were Cooper, August, Buchbinder, Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery), Fernandez and Stanley.
