Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team put the finishing touches on the home portion of the schedule by handling visiting Neumann University 15-1 on Thursday.

The Lions (13-3) wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they head to Kean University for the last conference tilt of the year. TCNJ has already clinched the top seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament and will host a semifinal game on Wednesday, April 29 at 7 p.m. That game will also be against Kean University, which is already locked into the fourth seed.

The loss snapped Neumann's seven-game winning streak as they fell to 10-5.

Prior to the game, the Lions honored this year's seniors in a brief ceremony that recognized them for their hard work, dedication and leadership to the program. This year's seniors include Ava Fitzgerald (Merrick, NY/Calhoun), Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan), Lauren Karpovich (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee), Kendal Borup (Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro South), Sam Iacouzzi (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose) and Soraya Selamie (South Brunswick, NJ/Rutgers Prep).

Every member of that group each played key roles in the win as well, with Fitzgerald leading the offense with six goals. Borup chipped in with five goals, while Healy started the offense by grabbing a team-high seven draw controls. Karpovich, Iacouzzi and Selamie all pitched in on the defensive side of the ball as the Lions allowed just one goal and two shots. This marked the 10th time this season the defense has held an opponent to five goals or less.

TCNJ scored all six goals in the opening half with junior Cortney Natalicchio (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) making it 1-0. That goal came on a free-position shot with 22:41 showing on the clock.

Fitzgerald and Borup then scored back-to-back goals before Fitzgerald rattled off the last three scores of the period, sending the hosts into the break with a 6-0 edge.

Borup reeled off the first four goals of the second half to extend the lead to double figures as the last of those goals gave her 62 on the season, which set a new career high. Fitzgerald added two more and Natalicchio, sophomore Mia Blackman (Arlington, VA/Field School) and freshman Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) added single scores to wrap up the scoring.

In goal for the Knights, freshman Gabby Curry (Maple Shade, NJ/Camden Catholic) registered 12 saves.
