Ewing, NJ… When The College of New Jersey men's tennis team has taken the court this spring, they have not only been winning its matches, they have been doing so in dominating fashion. The Lions extended their winning streak to seven straight on Monday with a 9-0 triumph against Wilkes University.

The Lions are 8-1 on the season, with six of those wins coming by 9-0 scores.

The loss dropped the Colonels to 10-2.

The first doubles team of juniors
Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and
Billy Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) got the hosts going with an 8-5 win, while the second pairing of sophomores
Jack August (Medford, NJ/Home Schooled) and
Mike Stanley (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) topped their opponents 8-6. The Lions completed the sweep in doubles play as freshmen
Sean Fernandez (Emerson, NJ/Bergen Catholic) and
Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery), posted an 8-5 decision in the third slot.

The Lions then won all six singles matches, with Fernandez coming away with the most exciting victory at fifth singles. He won the opening set 6-4, before falling 2-6 in the second. He quickly rebounded to win the third and deciding set 10-4.

Cooper won by identical 6-2 sets at first singles with August coming out on top in the second position 6-2, 6-3. At third singles, Buchbinder won 6-3, 6-2 and D'Agostino garnered a 7-5, 6-2 victory in the fourth spot. Stanley wrapped up the sweep in singles from the sixth slot with a 6-2, 6-1 decision.
