Salisbury, MD … The Salisbury University football team rushed for 420 yards en route to a 41-6 victory over The College of New Jersey in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

The #11 Sea Gulls (4-0) amassed 611 yards on offense and held the Lions (0-4) to 143 yards to win their fourth straight game of the season. TCNJ took an early 6-0 lead, but Salisbury responded with 41 unanswered points.
Connor Canonico led the offense with 134 yards rushing, but did not factor into the four rushing scores for the Sea Gulls.

Jeff Mattonelli was on the receiving end to notch his first TD catch of 2016. Senior lineman
Abdelrahman Ragab led the TCNJ defense with 12 tackles on the day.

Ryan Jones and Ragab recovered the loose ball on the Sea Gull's 24-yard line.

On 3
rd-and-12 from the Salisbury 16, Osler connected with Mattonelli in the end zone to give TCNJ a 6-0 lead.

The lead was short-lived, however, as Salisbury's
Aaron Moore returned the ensuing kickoff 80yards to the Lions' 15-yard line. Running back
Brad Curley took the hand off on first down and dashed 15 yards for TD score.

The Sea Gulls flaunted their running game the remainder of the opening half, amassing 277 yards on the ground and three rushing touchdowns.
Ryan Kolb capped a seven-play, 64-yard drive with a 23-yard sprint to make it a 14-6 score. Curley crossed the goal line for the second time in the game with 9:25 remaining in the second quarter. He carried it in from 16 yards and an
Alex Potocko field goal made it a 24-6 game at the break.
The third quarter was scoreless on both sides. At the start of the final period, Potocko booted his second field goal of the game to extend the host lead to 27-6. After TCNJ was forced to punt, Jones stepped up to the line of scrimmage before dropping back to hit
Sean Rowland with a 67-yard touchdown pass. Later in the period, running back
Brandon Lewis capped a 12-play, 83-yard scoring drive with a nine-yard TD run.

Erik Wehner each finished with nine tackles. Linebackers
Troy Domenick and
Max Busca were each credited with eight takedowns. Freshman
Zach Warcola rung up 10 punts for 438 yards and a long of 51.

TCNJ will remain on the road next week, traveling to Wesley College for a 1 p.m. game. Wesley defeated Southern Virginia University, 63-9 today.
