Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey men's tennis team was edged in its opening match of the spring season, falling 5-4 to Chestnut Hill College.

There was a plenty of drama in the home opener as three of the singles matches went to three sets with the battle between the Griffins Lucas Abe and the Lions' Bill Buchbinder going to a pair of tie-breaker sets. Buchbinder and
Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) also went to a tie-breaker in the doubles competition, falling 9-8 (9-7).
Mike Stanley (Newton, PA/Council Rock North) and
Jack August (Medford, NJ/Home Schooled) teamed up to get the lone doubles win for the Lions, defeating Lucas Bocaletto and Pedro Regalin 8-4. Notching wins in singles for TCNJ was Cooper,Â
Omar Bokhari  (Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany) and August.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday when they welcome Dickinson College for a 1 p.m. match in the Rec Center.
