Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey men's tennis team battled from behind to claim a 5-4 match victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions were down 1-4 after dropping first and second singles, and first and third doubles. They came back and won third, fourth, fifth, and sixth singles to secure the match.
Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) won sixth singles by score of 6-2 and 7-5 to get TCNJ the victory.
Other TCNJ players coming out on top in singles were
Jack August (Medford, NJ/Home Schooled),
Mike Stanley (Newton, PA/Council Rock North),
Omar Bokhari (Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany). The team of Stanley/August had the lone doubles win for the Lions.
TCNJ is back in action on March 5 when they travel to Haverford College. The match is set for a 1 p.m. start.
