Ewing, N.J... The College of New Jersey men's tennis team defeated New York University this afternoon by a score of 6-3.

All three doubles teams of
Jack August (Medford, NJ/Home Schooled) and
Mike Stanley (Newton, PA/Council Rock North),
Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and
Mitchel Sanders (Randolph, NJ/Randolph), and
Matt Puig (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highland) and
Tim Gavornik (Millington, NJ/Watchung Hills) notched victories to put the Lions in command.

In singles action, three of the six players registered wins. Stanley won by a score of 6-3 and 6-1.
Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) also rolled victory in straights, posting scores of 6-4 and 6-1. Gavornik dominated his opponent in back-to-back sets by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.

The Lions are back in action on April 2 when they travel to the Mary Washington University. The match is set for a 12 p.m. start.
