Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey men's tennis team won its third straight match, defeating Haverford College 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Lions (3-1) swept all three doubles matches to propel them past the Fords. Jack August (Medford, NJ/Home Schooled) and Mike Stanley (Newton, PA/Council Rock North) posted an 8-3 win. Senior Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) teamed up with Mitchel Sanders (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) to register an 8-4 victory, and Matt Puig (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highland) and Tim Gavornik (Millington, NJ/Watchung Hills) recorded a dominant 8-1 triumph over their opponent.
 
In singles matches, Sanders won in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3 at second singles. Omar Bokhari (Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany) rallied in the final two sets to post a win. After falling 4-6 in the opening set, he responded with 7-5 and 6-3 wins to claim the match. Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) won in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 for his second straight singles victory.
 
The Lions have an extended break before returning to the courts on Tuesday, March 29^th when they host Muhlenberg College at 4 p.m.
