Ewing N.J. … The College of New Jersey men's tennis team hosted Christopher Newport University this afternoon and came away with a 9-0 sweep.
 
The doubles teams of Pierce Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown)/Mitchel Sanders (Randolph, NJ/Randolph), Jack August (Medford, NJ/Home Schooled)/Mike Stanley (Newton, PA/Council Rock North) and Matt Puig (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highland)/Tim Gavornik (Millington, NJ/Watchung Hills) all earned victories in doubles.
 
In singles action, August, Cooper, Sanders, Stanley, Gavornik, and Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) all notched wins to complete the shutout of the Captains.
 
The Lions hit the courts again on April 19 when they host Ursinus College for a 4 p.m. match.
