Ewing, N.J. … The College of New Jersey field hockey team got back on track with a 4-0 win this afternoon against Juniata College in Lions Stadium.
Â
The lone goal of the first half was scored by senior
Jaclyn Douglas (Malvern, PA/Great Valley).
Caroline Quinn (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands) sent the ball into the circle on a corner and
Lexi Smith (Florence, NJ/Florence Township) fed it to Douglas, who then found the back of the net.
Â
Douglas also tallied the second goal of the game in the second half. Quinn earned the assist.
Â
Just a few minutes later, freshman
Cayla Andrews (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown) earned her first collegiate goal and made the score 3-0 on a pass from Smith.
Â
Rounding out the scoring was
Danielle Andreula (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt).
Kayla Peterson (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) started the attack with two shots on goal. After the second shot, Andreula gathered the rebound off the pads of the Juniata goalie and fired it home.
Â
Kelly Schlupp (Holland, PA/Council Rock South) started in net for the Lions. The defense kept the ball out of the hands of Juniata, so Schlupp made one save on the only shot on goal by the Eagles.
Christina Fabiano (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) came into the game in goalie relief during the second half.
Â
TCNJ is on the road for their next five games before they return to Lions Stadium on Saturday, October 1. Their next contest takes them to Madison, N.J. for a 7 p.m. matchup with Drew University.
