Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey tennis team (3-1) suffered its first setback of the season, falling 6-3 to Colby College (3-0) on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions went 1-2 in doubles, getting an 8-3 win from the sophomore pair of
Matt Puig (Allendale, NJ / Northern Highland) and
Mitchel Sanders (Randolph, NJ / Randolph). TCNJ got straight set wins from sophomore
Tim Gavornik (Millington, NJ / Watchung Hills) and senior
Mike Stanley (Newton, PA / Council Rock North). Gavornik won his match 6-4, 6-2, while Stanley won 6-3,6-5.
The Lions will be right back in action tomorrow against Goucher College. Play will begin from the Student Rec Center at 12:00 pm.
