Game Recap: Lacrosse |

Lions roll to third straight win

Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team improved to 3-0 with an 18-5 win over Cabrini University. The loss drops the Cavaliers to 1-2.

The Lions struck early on a goal from junior Elizabeth Morrison (Stongington, CT / Stonington) just 13 seconds into the game. TCNJ scored a total of six straight goals capped with sophomore Kathleen Jaeger (Whitehouse Station, NJ / Hunterdon Central) scoring her second of the game and ninth of the season.

Cabrini got on the board on a free position goal by Avery Murphy, her seventh on the year. The Lions responded, closing out the half on a three-goal run on goals by Kasey Donoghue (Mt. Laurel, NJ / Lenape), Jaeger, and Emily Kratz (Robbinsville, NJ / Robbinsville) to take a 12-3 advantage in to the break.

Midway into the second half Jaeger would score her fifth of the game, and team-high 12th of the season off a feed from freshman Olivia Cleale (Yardley, PA / Notre Dame). Cleale finished with three assists.

Miranda Chrone made three saves to pick up her third victory of the year. The stout defense in front of Chrone aided in the victory as well causing 24 turnovers, well above the 10.5 average the Cavaliers had entering tonight's contest.

The Lions are now 19-0 against Cabrini dating back to the 2000 season.

TCNJ continues their home stand as they open NJAC play against Ramapo College on Saturday, March 11th at 1:00 PM.
